Mono opened in 2002, furnishing Glasgow with a unique and versatile space in which to eat, drink and discover new music. Over our first decade, we developed a reputation for good beer, good vegan food, good gigs and good times. We are proud of our achievements but we aim to make our second decade even better.
Our close relationship with the other businesses with whom we share a roof, Monorail Music and Good Press, lends a sense of community: the former provide the soundtrack to our days, while the latter design many of our posters, and both help us to curate our varied programme of events.
Mono has hosted not only some of the most exciting bands around, both local and international, but also exhibitions, book readings, art performances and workshops. Hopefully, something will catch your eye on our Events page & we’ll see you soon!
Mono is a vegan café bar situated in Glasgow’s Merchant City. Our aim is to provide a welcoming environment, quality food & drink and an exciting range of live entertainment, all couched in an ethical & community based context. If you have any general queries, please contact us at:
The in-house independent record store has an extensive range of contemporary independent CDs, an ever expanding section of vinyl records from home and abroad, second-hand stock and re-issues of rare lost classics. A local institution with a growing international reputation.
MONORAIL MUSIC is open from 11am until 7pm Monday to Saturday, and from 12noon until 7pm on a Sunday.
GOOD PRESS was formed in October 2011 to provide an independent space to see visual art from new and established international artists. Currently based at Mono next door to neighbors Monorail Music, Good Press stocks hundreds of self- and independently published books, zines, prints, comics, newspapers and other printed items from individuals and publishers across
The people of Good Press also run Museums Press.
