Mono is excited to present a specially commissioned work for the Merchant City Festival –
Sat 27th July 12.30pm (1 hr)
Sun 28th July 3.30pm (1 hr)
People of all ages are invited to this special meal hosted by acclaimed performance-maker Adrian Howells, where they will be led in an unforgettable experience in the sharing of food and drink.
Guests will be blindfolded, invited to dine in pairs and to feed each other without the use of cutlery as part of a large, communal round-table lunch. They will experience the taste and texture of food – as well as be given permission to handle and explore its tactile, sensorial nature – and have the opportunity to experience the intimacy, generosity and difficulty of eating and drinking, without the aid of one of their primary senses to guide them.
Join in this unique opportunity to celebrate, interrogate, realise, remember what it is to enjoy and share food together.
This piece is suitable for people of all ages and we encourage both adults and children to take part.
All under 18s must be accompanied by and paired with an adult.
Bookings must be made in pairs. Larger parties are very welcome, but please ensure that you are partnered up.
