City Lines – Poetry, prose, music and comedy from students of HNC Professional Writing Skills at City of Glasgow College. With very special guests Louise Welsh, Niall Campbell and John Gavin.

HNC Professional Writing Skills is the only full-time creative writing course in Scotland’s college sector, specialising in prose, poetry, and scriptwriting. City Lines is the course’s annual reading event where students share their work with an audience.

Louise Welsh is the bestselling author of The Cutting Room, The Bullet Trick, Naming The Bones, A Lovely Way To Burn and more, and former winner of the Crime Writers’ Association Creasey Dagger, the Saltire First Book Award, and the Scotland on Sunday Spirit of Scotland Writing Award.

Niall Campbell is the winner of the inaugural Edwin Morgan Award for best young Scottish poet, and is shortlisted for many more literary awards this year. His debut collection Moontide is published by Bloodaxe Books.

John Gavin is one of Scotland’s foremost stand-ups, and Scottish Comedian of the Year in 2009. He is also a current student on HNC Professional Writing Skills.
