Please join us on Tuesday 9th Dec for our fourth event featuring guest artists, Neil Clements & Sukaina Kubba.
The Glasgow Artist Guild is a platform for artists to lecture about their practice in an informal environment to like-minded people. Each month we get together and hear from various artists, give feedback and make connections. This event is free, and open to the public. This is an informal event, where artists and creative minds alike can network, discuss, and share contemporary ideas, perhaps leading to opportunities in the future.
Neil Clements originally from Belfast, completed a BA(hons) in Fine Art and an MRes in Creative Practices at the Glasgow school of Art. His most recent show at Tramway included sculpture and installation works alongside a new series of paintings entitled ‘Testbeds’ that brought together contemporary military references under the spectrum of Modernism. Neil continues to live and work in Glasgow.
Sukaina Kubba was born in Baghdad and grew up in the UAE and Canada. With degrees in Architecture from McGill University Montreal and with ten years architectural experience, Sukaina then went on to complete an MLitt at the Glasgow school of Art. Recent shows include ‘Work Out’ at Hilary Crisp, London, ‘Le Swimming’ included as part of Glasgow International 2014 and ‘Pavor Nocturnus’ at Kendall Koppe Gallery. She works with a variety of materials within the canon of painting including latex, PVC, Polyester, silk and found objects.
