Mono: Call for music/visual art proposals – deadline Friday 15th July
Mono is seeking proposals from musicians and visual artists to create work which incorporates aspects of music/sound performance and installation.

Mono Cafe Bar is by design a hybrid space, which provides shelter for a wide range of creative practices, conversations and experiences. Food, records, live music, visual art are among the interests which cross-pollinate each day in this cafe bar/record store/gig venue/gallery.
We are interested in experimenting with this space.
As a highlight to our summer programme we are seeking proposals from musicians and visual artists who want to work together to create a one-off piece in response to the space. We are looking for proposals which surprise and challenge us.
We are particularly interested in proposals from people or groups who have not previously worked together.
Where possible, proposals should work towards a gig/performance/launch event taking place on the evening of Thursday 4th August, with the possibility of an exhibition element running until Sunday 14th August.
We invite all proposals which are suitable for for a space which is open to everyone, including people of all ages.

Please send details of your proposal (500 words approx) to firstname.lastname@example.org detailing the following:
– description of idea including size and materials used and details of performance element
– artists involved
– links to other relevant work
The closing date for submissions is Friday 15th July 2016
The date for completion and installation is Thursday 4th August 2016.
We can offer a fee/materials budget of £400 for the chosen proposal.
